Polycom Factory Reset

Polycom Factory Reset with Default Password

  1. On the phone, press the Menu/Home key.
  2. Select the Settings option.
  3. Select the Advanced option.
  4. Enter the password 456 or 789 and press the Enter softkey
  5. Select Admin Settings.
  6. Select Restore to Defaults.
  7. Select Reset to Factory.
  8. Say Yes when it asks Are you sure?

​Polycom Factory Reset Without Password

  • First, you will need to look at the back of your phone to locate the MAC address. This will be a 12 digit number appearing on a sticker at the back of your phone. Write this down somewhere as you will need to enter it as the reset password later.
    Once you have this address, follow these steps to initiate the reset:
  1. Power off the phone by unplugging the power or network
  2. Plug the phone back in
  3. Wait until you see Cancel, then press the Cancel button
  4. Quickly press and hold down the following keys:

5. Once the password is entered correctly, you will be prompted a final time whether you would like to reset. Proceed and your phone should now reboot to complete the process.

6. In the event that you get the password wrong, on the next screen, you can simply press Cancel and it will return to the password prompt and you can try again

Reset Phone to Factory Defaults Through the Phone's Web GUI

  • The device web interface (GUI) allows you to make changes to the phone's settings via a web browser on your computer, which can often be more convenient than on the phone screen itself. You must ensure that:
  1. The phone is plugged into the network
  2. The computer is on the same network as the phone
  3. In a web browser on a computer on the same network as the phone, browse to the phone's IP address (https://<IP address of phone)
  4. Log in as Admin and enter the phone's 456 or 789
  5.  Navigate to Utilities > Phone Backup & Restore. 
  6. Click the small + to open the Global Settings options.
  7. Click Restore to reset the phone to factory default settings.
  8. Wait for phone to reboot.

Note: After the phone has been reset to factory default settings, the administrator password will have changed to 456.

 

Provision Phone into Production

Manually Provision Phone into Production

  • In a web browser on a computer on the same network as the phone, browse to the phone's IP address.
  1. Log in as admin and enter password 456.
  2. Navigate to Settings > Provisioning Server.
  3. From the Server Type drop-down, select HTTP.
  4. In the Server Address field, enter the Contivio Provisioning Server address:
    http://107.21.238.39/XXX_XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
  5. Click Save.
  6. Navigate to Preferences.
  7. Click Date and time > SNTP Server
  8. Select the ntp.orgaddress from the dropdown menu.
  9. Click Save.
  10. Allow several minutes for the phone to reboot and connect to the Contivio servers. When rebooting is complete

AutoProvision Phone into Production

  1. Configure your DHCP server option 66 and option 150 to point to the URL: http://107.21.238.39/XXX_XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
  2. After configuring the DHCP option, plug the IP phones into the network.
  3. Your phone will download the config, update firmware, and might reboot at least once.
