# Sending SMS from Smart Search in Contivio
## Contivio makes it easy to send SMS messages directly from your interaction history using the Smart Search feature. Here’s how you can find and message a contact via SMS using Smart Search.
#### Sending SMS via Smart Search:
1. **Access the History Tab:**
- From the home screen, click on the **History** tab. This is where all your previous interactions, including calls and SMS messages, are stored.
2. **Use the Query Box to Search:**
- In the **Query** box located on the right, type either the phone number or the name of the contact. Contivio will search your CRM or contact list for any matching names or numbers.
3. **Search for the Contact:**
- After entering the information, click **Search** or press **Enter** on your keyboard.
- Contivio will display a list of all interactions with the searched contact, sorted from newest to oldest by default.
4. **Adjust Sort Order (Optional):**
- If you prefer to view older interactions first, use the dropdown menu to sort the list by oldest to newest.
5. **Select the Activity:**
- Hover over or click on the relevant interaction to activate the one-click options on the right side of the screen.
6. **Send the SMS:**
- Click on the **SMS icon** to open the conversation thread with the contact.
- From here, you can continue the conversation by typing your message and clicking **Send**.
This process allows you to easily find and message contacts based on their previous interactions, ensuring you have the full conversation history available.
