## Summary

A NetSuite contact center should do more than open a customer record when the phone rings. It should support your inbound and outbound teams, use approved NetSuite data during interactions and preserve the resulting activity, conversation context and configured AI outputs on the correct records.

This guide explains what to evaluate, what Contivio can demonstrate and which questions to ask before choosing a platform.

In this guide

1. [Define your operating requirements](https://go.contivio.com/blog/how-to-evaluate-netsuite-contact-center#nscc-requirements)
2. [Six criteria to evaluate](https://go.contivio.com/blog/how-to-evaluate-netsuite-contact-center#nscc-criteria)
3. [One customer inquiry, connected to NetSuite](https://go.contivio.com/blog/how-to-evaluate-netsuite-contact-center#nscc-scenario)
4. [What to expect from a Contivio demo](https://go.contivio.com/blog/how-to-evaluate-netsuite-contact-center#nscc-demo-expect)
5. [Compare the complete cost](https://go.contivio.com/blog/how-to-evaluate-netsuite-contact-center#nscc-cost)
6. [Build a shortlist around evidence](https://go.contivio.com/blog/how-to-evaluate-netsuite-contact-center#nscc-shortlist)
7. [Frequently asked questions](https://go.contivio.com/blog/how-to-evaluate-netsuite-contact-center#nscc-faq)

## Define your operating requirements

Vendor comparisons are easier when you start with a written description of how your teams work. Before the first demo, identify:

- Office phone users versus contact-center agents
- Inbound, outbound or blended operations
- Expected call volumes and concurrent calls
- Voice, SMS, chat and AI-agent requirements
- Countries, business hours, devices and number porting
- Supervisor, reporting, recording and security needs
- Any specialist workforce-management requirements

These answers determine which platforms are realistic. A finance team that needs reliable extensions has different priorities from a sales floor running daily outbound campaigns, and many NetSuite organizations have both.

Contivio supports business phone users and contact-center agents on one platform, including larger inbound, outbound and blended teams. Share your expected volumes and concurrency early so the evaluation reflects your actual operation. If you rely on a dedicated workforce-management tool, confirm how it would fit alongside any platform you consider.

## Six criteria to evaluate

Each criterion below includes what Contivio can demonstrate and a concrete question to ask every vendor.

### 1. Integration depth

Integration quality depends on which NetSuite records are supported, how callers are matched and what is written back. Check customer, contact, case, transaction and custom records, along with permissions and the handling of multiple matches and unknown callers.

Architecture labels alone do not determine quality. A SuiteApp, an adapter and a vendor-built connector can each be shallow or sophisticated. Judge the observable results in your account.

**What Contivio can show** Screen pops on the records your teams use, controlled selection when a number matches several records and interaction writeback according to the configured mapping.

**Ask in the demo** “Show me what happens when a caller’s number matches two contacts, and when it matches none.”

[![Contivio inbound call screen pop displaying a NetSuite customer record.](https://www.contivio.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/09/netsuite-screen-pop-scaled.png)View full size](https://www.contivio.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/09/netsuite-screen-pop-scaled.png)

An inbound call opens the matching NetSuite record with customer context.

### 2. NetSuite-aware routing

Routing can use approved NetSuite data to send an interaction to the right person or queue. Common examples are account owner, territory, account status and customer tier.

**What Contivio can show** Configured routing that uses a NetSuite field to direct a call to an account owner or a specific queue.

**Ask in the demo** “Route a test call using one of our real NetSuite fields, and show what happens when that field is empty.”

### 3. Inbound and outbound operations

Inbound teams need queues, IVR and callbacks. Outbound teams need campaigns built from the right lists and a dialing mode that suits the work. Contivio can build outbound campaigns from NetSuite saved searches and supports preview, progressive or power and predictive dialing, depending on the configured campaign and enabled features.

Supervisors also need live monitoring, whisper and barge, plus operational reporting on queues, agents and campaigns.

**What Contivio can show** A saved-search campaign running in your preferred dialing mode, alongside supervisor monitoring, whisper, barge and reporting.

**Ask in the demo** “Build a campaign from one of our saved searches and show how call outcomes return to NetSuite.”

### 4. Voice, SMS, chat and handoff

Customers move between channels. Supported SMS and chat interactions should remain associated with the same customer history as calls, and when a conversation moves to a human agent, the agent should receive the context gathered so far.

**What Contivio can show** SMS and live chat conversations linked to the customer record, and a chat escalated to an agent with the transcript available.

**Ask in the demo** “Escalate a chat to an agent and show us where the full conversation appears in NetSuite.”

### 5. AI analysis and AI agents

AI capabilities fall into three categories, and each should be evaluated separately:

- **Post-interaction analysis.** Transcription, summaries, sentiment, keywords, customer-satisfaction analysis, scorecards and follow-up suggestions generated after a conversation.
- **Supervisor alerts.** Configured notifications that bring specific interactions to a supervisor’s attention.
- **AI-agent actions.** Configured [AI voice, SMS and chat agents](https://www.contivio.com/netsuite-ai-agents/) that use approved NetSuite data to answer inquiries and complete defined workflows.

Evaluate both live assistance and post-interaction intelligence. Ask which alerts and context are available during a conversation, which analysis is generated afterward and how the outputs connect to NetSuite records.

**What Contivio can show** Recording access, transcripts, summaries and analysis on the NetSuite interaction record, plus an AI agent answering an inquiry from approved data.

**Ask in the demo** “Which AI outputs are written to NetSuite, when do they appear and which roles can see them?”

[![Contivio interaction record in NetSuite showing recording playback, an AI summary and transcript.](https://www.contivio.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/09/Screenshot-2026-09-25-at-12.56.24-PM-scaled.png)View full size](https://www.contivio.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/09/Screenshot-2026-09-25-at-12.56.24-PM-scaled.png)

Configured recording access, transcripts, summaries and AI analysis appear alongside the NetSuite interaction record.

### 6. Implementation and support ownership

Installing a SuiteApp does not complete a deployment. Contivio leads implementation alongside your NetSuite administrator, covering SuiteApp installation, roles, authentication, record mapping, telephony, routing, testing and training. The [NetSuite implementation guide](https://www.contivio.com/netsuite-implementation-guide/) describes the process in more detail.

**What Contivio can show** The implementation plan, the responsibilities of each party and how support works after launch.

**Ask in the demo** “Who configures, tests and supports each part of the workflow, including telephony?”

[![Contivio Integration Role permissions displayed in NetSuite.](https://www.contivio.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/09/Screenshot-2026-09-25-at-12.57.13-PM-scaled.png)View full size](https://www.contivio.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/09/Screenshot-2026-09-25-at-12.57.13-PM-scaled.png)

Roles, permissions and authentication are configured with your NetSuite administrator during implementation.

## One customer inquiry, connected to NetSuite

Illustrative scenario

The following example shows how the criteria work together. It describes a configured workflow, not a specific customer result.

1. **Identification.** A customer contacts the company about an order. The platform matches the number and presents the appropriate customer record.
2. **Lookup.** The agent, or a configured AI agent, retrieves approved order data such as status and shipping details.
3. **Response.** The customer receives an answer from the agent or the AI agent.
4. **Handoff.** If the request needs a person, the AI agent transfers the conversation with its context to a human agent.
5. **Logging.** The interaction is recorded against the customer, with the configured transcript and summary.
6. **Follow-up.** Where configured, a task, case or workflow is created for the next step.

Ask each vendor to run this sequence with your own records and show the resulting NetSuite data.

## What to expect from a Contivio NetSuite demo

A useful demo follows your scenarios rather than a standard script. These are the scenarios Contivio can walk through.

| Scenario | What Contivio demonstrates | What to verify |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Known caller | Caller matching and a screen pop on the correct record | Which record types are searched and in what order |
| Multiple or unknown matches | Record selection for shared numbers and handling of unknown callers | How agents link or create records and how the interaction is preserved |
| Saved-search outbound campaign | A campaign built from a NetSuite saved search in a supported dialing mode | Which modes are enabled for your account and how outcomes are written back |
| Supervisor tools | Live monitoring, whisper, barge and reporting | The reports your managers need and who can access them |
| Completed call | Recording access, transcript and AI summary on the interaction record | Retention, permissions and which fields are populated |
| SMS or chat | A conversation linked to the customer history | Where the conversation appears and how it is attributed |
| AI order inquiry | An AI agent answering from approved order data, then handing off to a person | Which data the AI agent can access and what the human agent receives |
| Follow-up | A configured task, case or workflow created from the interaction | Triggers, ownership and any conditions |

We tailor the demo to your priorities, using relevant NetSuite records and the calling, campaign or AI workflows you want to evaluate.

## Compare the complete cost

Per-user license prices are only part of the total. Ask every vendor to itemize:

- PBX and contact-center licenses
- Calling usage and telephone numbers
- SMS
- AI services
- Recording retention
- Implementation
- Connector, middleware or specialist-tool fees
- Ongoing administration

Pricing varies by user type, usage and enabled features, and some items may be billed separately. Review current [Contivio pricing](https://www.contivio.com/pricing/) and confirm the full scope for your deployment.

## Build a shortlist around evidence

1. **Map your requirements.** Use the operating questions above to describe your teams, channels and records.
2. **Choose finalists.** Select two or three platforms that can support the complete operating model.
3. **Test the same workflows.** Give each finalist identical scenarios and review the resulting NetSuite records.
4. **Confirm ownership.** Document who implements, configures and supports each part of the solution.
5. **Speak with customers.** Ask for references from NetSuite organizations of comparable size and complexity.

## Frequently asked questions

Can Contivio support outbound sales and larger NetSuite contact centers?

Yes. Contivio supports inbound, outbound and blended workflows, outbound campaigns from NetSuite saved searches, supported preview, progressive or power and predictive dialing modes, NetSuite-aware routing and supervisor tools. Capacity should be evaluated against your actual call volumes, concurrency and operating requirements during the sales process.

What AI capabilities should I evaluate in a NetSuite contact center?

Evaluate three areas separately: post-interaction analysis such as transcripts, summaries, sentiment and scorecards; supervisor alerts; and AI agents that use approved NetSuite data to answer inquiries or complete workflows. Confirm which outputs are written to NetSuite, when they appear and which require configuration or additional services.

Does installing a SuiteApp complete the implementation?

No. Installation is the first step. A complete deployment also covers account-specific configuration, roles and permissions, authentication, record mapping, telephony, routing, testing and user training.

Can one platform support office phones and contact-center agents?

Yes. Contivio provides PBX user roles for office employees and contact-center roles for agents on the same platform, so both groups share one phone system and one NetSuite integration. See the [NetSuite phone system](https://www.contivio.com/netsuite-phone-system/) for the office-user features.
